If you are in the public sector your organisation must comply with many different types of legislation including the Freedom of Information Act, the Data Protection Act and the Public Sector Records Acts. As a Public sector organisation if you do not comply with the correct legislation you are putting yourselves at risk of fines and the negative publicity that would follow.
